The Danish Samoyed Club was founded in March 1980 thanks to a group of Sam-owners with mutual interests. Earlier the breed was presented along with other dogs as the Alaskan Malamute,Akita, Iceland Dog etc. The primary interest of the club is to observe and work for keeping the Samoyed as close to original characteristics and qualities as possible. Along with Polardog clubs in the other Nordic countries, The Danish Samoyed Club and national kennel clubs in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland are responsible for the Samoyed Standard.
The Danish Samoyed Club is confirmed by The Danish Kennel Club (DKK), witch is the headorganisation for all purebreed dog activities in Denmark. As a member of The Danish Samoyed Club you will receive the magazine Samojeden 5 times a year. Once a month a list of puppies is updated and available free of charge for those with interest in buying a puppy. We recommand that you contact 2 or 3 different breeders from the list before you make your choice.
